Children are a priority here at Francis. It is our desire to invest in every child that comes to Francis ministries. Every child is important not only to Francis Baptist Church, but also to the Kingdom of God. When you bring your child here, we hope you discover it is a safe place where your child will learn about Christ and have fun.
Saftey and Security
When your child comes to Francis, the first thing we hope parents observe is that we take security seriously. Everyone who works with our children have undergone a background check, they have been trained, and they are required to follow ministry guidelines to ensure your children’s safety. We also have a check-in and checkout station so that your children only go home with those who have been approved by the guardian.
The children’s workers also go to great lengths to share the truths of God with your children as well. We have several different ministry opportunities listed below where the focus is to teach your child about the love of God. This is done through children’s worship, special events, and object lessons.
Your Children Will love It Here
Finally, we want your children to have fun while they are here. They will sing, create, laugh, play, and make friends all while learning about Christ. We want your children to desire to come back.
This ministry takes place during our Sunday morning worship times (8:15 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.). Children’s church is like our main worship service for adults, but is geared for children. There is praise and worship, prayer time, an opportunity to give to the offering, and a Bible study with the opportunity to respond. Children’s church is a place where your kids can worship while you worship in our FLC. If you would rather your children accompany you to worship in our main service, they are more than welcome as well.
Awana is a Wednesday night children’s ministry aimed at reaching kids for Christ through fun, Scripture-rich experiences that lead them to know, love, and serve God. Wednesday night includes 25 minutes of playing games, 25 minutes of memorizing and discussing Scriptures, and 25 minutes of small group Bible study. Children love this ministry, and your kids will too!
Our children’s Sunday School is led by a group of passionate volunteers that truly do care about the church and your children. It is a small group Bible study class that is divided up by grade. In these classes, children make crafts, learn about Jesus, discover how they can live for Jesus, and make friends. There is a place and class for everyone.
Sunday Night JAM Kidz Choir
Every Sunday evening, we have an engaging children’s ministry program. It ranges from children’s choir practice, hand bell practice, Christmas play practice, or other events where children learn about Christ. We also use this time to let the children complete service projects that will encourage and brighten the day of others.
The third Friday night of each month, we open our FLC doors for kids to bring their skates, boards, or scooters to ride around our facility. There is music and lots of fun, and dinner is provided. We chaperone to help ensure your children's safety, but encourage parents to stay with their children as well.
Vacation Bible School (VBS)
This is a one week, fun-filled, children’s ministry event during the summer. For one week (Monday-Friday), children come out to Francis to worship, play games, have themed snacks, learn about missions, make crafts, and learn about Jesus and how He is still a part of our lives today. It is a great week! We end the week with a VBS ceremony for the children to share a song they learned that week and fellowship afterward. 2018 VBS is June 4-8 from 5:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m.
